We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Mental Health & Addiction Specialist. As a key member of our Home and Community Care Support Services team, you will play a vital role in providing essential health-related advice and support to educators within schools and developing individual care plans for clients with mental health and addictions needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide mental health and addiction services to children and youth in schools and community settings
- Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with mental health workers and other healthcare professionals
- Provide input to the mental health and addiction needs of students and families
- Collaborate with educators and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to support students with mental health and addiction issues
- Conduct assessments and provide treatment plans for clients with mental health and addiction needs
- Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers on mental health and addiction issues
- Participate in interprofessional teams to develop and implement care plans
- Document client information and progress in a timely and accurate manner
- Registered Nurse (BScN or diploma) with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
- Case Management Certificate is an asset
- Knowledge of the mental health and addictions service system for children and youth
- Direct clinical experience in providing mental health and/or addictions services for children and youth
- Advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills
- Ability to practice independently and interdependently
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency with computerized information systems
- French language is an asset
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
