Job OverviewThis is a permanent, on-the-road position that requires the ability to operate and maintain heavy haulage trucks in various locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, overseeing the condition of the vehicle, and performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
Key Responsibilities- Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload goods from heavy haulage trucks, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the vehicle's tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Inspections and Record Keeping: Conduct thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, documenting all aspects of the vehicle's condition and recording relevant data, including hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with central dispatch and other team members to ensure seamless operations and timely deliveries.
- Transportation and Logistics: Transport goods and materials safely and efficiently, adhering to all applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Valid Driver's Licence: Possess a valid driver's licence and have a clean driving record.
- Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and willingness to train.
