Your Opportunity:

As a Health Care Aide with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to clients in their homes and lodges in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas. This position requires a certified Health Care Aide with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and a positive attitude towards clients and peers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal assistance with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and safety needs.
  • Support patients with short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with patient care plans and facility policies.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Assist with organized activities and programs, and observe and report on patient mood, health, and wellbeing.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supportive Pathways course.
  • Palliative Care course/experience.
  • NVCI course.
  • It's Your Move course.
  • Medication Assistance Program (MAP).
  • Foot care course/experience.
