Located in Toronto, Canada, IG Wealth Management is a leading diversified wealth and asset management company with approximately $271 billion in total assets under management.

The successful candidate will be part of the national Corporate Communications team at IGM Financial (including IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments) and will help develop and implement strategic communications for external and internal audiences.

This includes contributing to media relations campaigns by developing creative pitch angles, drafting media materials, and liaising with target editors/journalists. Additionally, the individual will assist in creating content for social media platforms and engage with business leaders confidently.

Responsibilities:

  • Media Relations: Develop interesting pitch angles, draft media materials, and work with journalists to secure interview opportunities for IGM/IG/Mackenzie spokespeople.
  • Writing and Editing: Create content and manage approvals for various external materials, including press releases, social media posts, speaking notes, and video scripts.
  • Project Management: Work with the team to ensure timely campaign execution and address stakeholder needs.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years' experience in corporate communications or PR agency environment; direct experience within financial services industry considered an asset.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Experience implementing communications campaigns for external and internal audiences.
  • A strong understanding of media relations and integrated PR campaigns.
  • Demonstrated interest in communications industry best practices.
  • Expertise in social media strategy and content creation.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • Established relationships with a wide cross-section of journalists.
  • Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications or Public Relations.

A competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
