Facility Operations Associate

G3 Canada Limited is a rapidly growing company building a highly efficient coast-to-coast Canadian Grain enterprise. As an essential part of this vision, we are seeking a skilled Operations Assistant (Level 2) to join our team in G3 Hamilton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing grain handling operations throughout the facility, ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for everyone. Key objectives include maintaining a clean and organized environment, providing exceptional customer service, and fostering collaborative working relationships with colleagues and business partners.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure physical facilities are clean, efficient, and well-maintained, adhering to corporate EH&S policies and best practices.
  • Receive grain by truck, including weighing and documentation, and sample grain to assess quality.
  • Operate Terminal control systems and grain cleaning equipment, assessing grain quality as needed.
  • Ship grain via ship and truck, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service, identifying opportunities to improve standard operating procedures and reduce operating expenses.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration between management, staff, and G3 head office.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and operate various equipment, including Skid Steer, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, Snow Plow, and Salter Truck.
  • Fulfill seasonal shift work, occasional overnights, and weekend shifts when required.

Requirements:

  • A strong work ethic, ability to learn, and willingness to take on responsibilities.
  • Effective computer knowledge and experience.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge or familiarity of grain grading and cleaner operations is considered an asset.
  • Farm or Ag industry experience is also considered an asset.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Maintenance experience is preferred.
