Job Title: Teacher - STEPS Program (1.0 FTE)
Job Summary:
Parkland School Division is seeking a qualified Teacher to join our team in the STEPS program. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, delivering, and assessing programming to support students in developing their academic, social, emotional, and personal management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the unique needs of students
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and successful school year
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education degree and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Experience teaching Middle Years or Special Education is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
Working Conditions:
Teachers work indoors except when supervising children outdoors or going on field trips. Teachers may have a holiday schedule including a long summer break as well as winter and spring breaks.
