Job Summary
The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for managing project contractors, monitoring and controlling performance, and meeting operational standards. This includes contributing to strategic plans and constructability reviews, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, and resolving problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project contractors by monitoring and controlling performance
- Meet operational standards by contributing to strategic plans and constructability reviews
- Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Resolve problems and identify construction management system improvements
- Meet project budgets and timelines by monitoring project expenditures and identifying variances
- Accomplish construction project results by contributing to project scope definition, estimating, and enforcing standards and protocols
- Prevent orders and interruptions by complying with and enforcing regulations and codes
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
- Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical engineering technology preferred
- Considerable experience in related field will be considered in lieu
- 5+ years' experience in managing the execution of small to medium size projects
- Knowledge of project management techniques and experience in estimation, cost monitoring, analyzing, and reporting
- Millwright trades background will be considered an asset
- Good organizational skills with attention to details
- Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines
- Working knowledge of regular financial and procurement processes
- Solid report writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach
- Strong analytical skills
- Good work ethic and strong attitude towards safety
- Sound interpersonal and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees
- Knowledge of Ontario OH&S Act & Regulations is considered an asset
- Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset
