About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Designer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to take their skills to the next level and contribute to complex water and wastewater treatment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement instrumentation and control systems for water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system compatibility and efficiency.
  • Maintain and improve existing control systems, ensuring they meet Canadian Electrical Code and ISA standards.
  • Work closely with hazardous area classification experts to ensure safe system design.
  • Develop PLC & SCADA hardware and software specifications, as well as network configurations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for system design and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and technicians.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering or Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and control system design, preferably in water and wastewater treatment.
  • Registration with APEGA or ASET is required or eligible for registration.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and ISA standards.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in PLC & SCADA hardware and software specification, as well as network configuration.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
