Job Title: ECE Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated ECE Assistant to join our team at 103300 P.E.I Inc. As an ECE Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare programs.

Job Summary:

The ECE Assistant will assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes assessing children's development, preparing learning plans, and supervising staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess children's development and prepare learning plans tailored to their needs.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs and activities.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Lead activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children on outings.
  • Order supplies and equipment and assist with record-keeping.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through various media.
  • Engage children in activities and prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods.
  • Discuss children's progress and problems at staff meetings.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in childcare programs.
Requirements:
  • Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Basic security clearance and vulnerable sector check.
  • Punctuality, dependability, interpersonal awareness, values, and ethics.
