Career Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Food Processing Operator to join our team at one of our facilities across Canada. This is a full-time permanent opportunity requiring 40 hours/week on a permanent basis. You must be legally eligible to work and currently residing in Canada.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, assembling equipment, and operating the machine. They will also perform basic to moderate troubleshooting on equipment, dismantle, clean and reassemble equipment as needed for processing, retrieve raw product and feed into the Hopper, and complete required paperwork.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Equipment & Trouble Shooting Skills:
    • Set up, assemble equipment, and operate the machine
    • Demonstrated ability to perform basic to moderate troubleshooting on equipment
    • Dismantles, cleans and reassembles equipment as needed for processing
    • Retrieve raw product and feed into the Hopper
    • Responsible for helping create and execute daily autonomous maintenance inspections to prevent machine downtime
    • Complete the required paperwork
    • Working with the computer (SAP) program
    • Demonstrated mechanical abilities (basic use of hand tools, a basic understanding of mechanical systems (steam, water), ability to move through PLC screens)
    • Ability to make decisions, anticipate problems, and make appropriate changes
    • Ability to establish priorities in their work area
    • Need to be able to operate a forklift (Reach, Counterbalance, Walkie)
  • Quality & Food Safety Skills:
    • Thorough, accurate, and neat completion of forms for HACCP & Quality Assurance (including bringing a product to the lab for testing)
    • Product quality checks against customer and internal specifications
    • Ability to maintain the cleanliness of areas of responsibility
  • Health and Safety:
    • Demonstrated ability to wear proper PPE and comply with safety requirements
    • Lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling up to 70 lbs
    • Overhead reaching, gripping with both hands
    • Prolonged standing
    • Climbing stairs
  • Communication, Cooperation & Continuous Improvement Skills:
    • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
    • Positive interaction and information sharing with Associates and Salaried Team
    • Active participation in Work Group meetings
    • Ability to obtain pertinent information, evaluate information objectively and explore alternative solutions to problems and improved ways of completing job tasks

Salary and Benefits

This is a competitive salary position with an estimated annual salary of $60,000 - $80,000 CAD, based on experience.
