Job Title: Mine Engineer, Senior

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mine Engineer, Senior to join our team at SSR Mining. As a key member of our Technical Services Department, you will be responsible for creating, designing, and developing best practices regarding mining engineering processes, procedures, and practices to support the success of departmental targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement infrastructure projects, feasibility studies, and equipment procurement plans.
  • Create and automate reports, analyze data, and provide technical documentation to support decision-making.
  • Support the mine operation with ice road procurement and resupply through accurate forecasting of required supplies.
  • Implement Deswik.OPs to create seamless processes connecting mid-range plans with short-range plans and transition away from excel-based mining data capture.
  • Work with business partners to calculate mineable reserves.
  • Engage and interact with business partners across the organization to identify and implement improvement and operational excellence opportunities.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality in all work.
  • Assist in the preparation of medium and long-range mine plans.
  • Adhere to programs, systems, and procedures in mine design that meet industry standards and continually seek opportunities for improved design processes.
  • Interact with the entire Technical Services team to ensure team focus.
  • Create a strong safety culture through engagement and empowering others.

Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma of Technology in Mining with fifteen (15) years underground mining-related experience or degree in Mine Engineering, or related field, with ten (10) years' underground mining-related experience.
  • Experience with Deswik and Deswik.OPs would be considered an asset and must be well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Power Query, and PowerBi.

Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp, which you will be required to fly in and out with pick-up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.
