Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a salary of $2,738.00 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform Field Surveys: Conduct field surveys involving the use of instruments such as transit, level, M scope, and pin locator to produce accurate data for the construction of extensions or alterations to existing gas mains and services.
  • Check Accuracy: Verify the accuracy of survey information against legal survey plans obtained from Land Title offices, municipal halls, construction sites, and local survey firms.
  • Calculate Distances and Bearings: Calculate and note distances and bearings to establish accurate running line references.
  • Apply Survey Instruments: Apply survey instruments on site to locate existing underground gas pipelines, other underground services, and utilities, and proximity to property lines to confirm related legal requirements.
  • Establish Location: Establish the location of property easements not previously identified.
  • Make Field Notes: Make field notes and/or sketches of survey results, including topographic maps, profiles, drawings, building locations, objects, or foreign utilities on or crossing potential running line.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • B.C.I.T Engineering Technician Certificate in Surveying Technology or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 8 months' experience as a Transmission & Distribution Surveyor 1 or equivalent.
