Job Title: RF Systems Engineer

Yves R. Hamel et Associés is seeking a highly skilled RF Systems Engineer to join our team. As an RF Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing wireless communication systems, including cellular networks and distributed antenna systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop RF systems, including cellular networks and DAS systems
  • Conduct network analysis and simulations using modeling tools such as InfoVista Planet, Ekahau, and IBWave
  • Develop link budgets, coverage, and capacity plans for LTE, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi networks
  • Design private cellular networks for Industry 4.0 and critical infrastructure operators
  • Create BOMs and CAPEX and OPEX estimates for cellular and Wi-Fi networks
  • Draft functional and technical specifications and requirements
  • Develop interconnection specifications and follow up on network expertise and optimization
  • Perform quality of service audits for DAS and small cell installations
  • Conduct cellular coverage and performance measurements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a recognized engineering school
  • Member of Professional Engineers Ontario
  • 5-8 years of experience in the RF domain, particularly in cellular network design and DAS systems
  • Knowledge of cellular networks using LTE, LTE+, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi technologies
  • Working knowledge of modeling tools such as InfoVista Planet, Ekahau, and IBWave
  • Participation in telecom projects, preferably in cellular and DAS network design
  • Knowledge of interference issues, Safety Code 6, microwave, and/or fibre-optic backhaul
  • Knowledge of service deployment issues and troubleshooting
  • Planning, design, coordination, and project management skills
  • Autonomous, responsible, and self-motivated
