Millwright Journeyman Job Description

Silver Hills Bakery is seeking a skilled Millwright Journeyman to join our production team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project installations on time and budget under the direction of the project manager.
  • Supervise contractors working on projects and provide direction as needed.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, take apart, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks, and tractors, to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.
  • Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup of machinery.
  • Inspect new equipment and parts to ensure compliance with Purchase Orders.
  • Ensure contractor WCB approvals, plant safety program orientation, and confidentiality statements.
  • Work with maintenance and production teams to ensure SOPs and training materials are provided at the time of sign-off on project work.
  • Enforce company policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Promote and facilitate safe work practices and policies.

Hourly rate: $42.00/hour
