Job Title: Sandwich Maker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Sandwich Maker to join our Culinary team at Horizon North. As a Sandwich Maker, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of sandwiches and specialty items to fulfill our bagged lunch program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all sandwiches according to standard recipes and menus, including specialty sandwiches and compounds.
  • Properly rotate food products to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace, complying with statutory and company hygiene requirements.
  • Visually inspect the appearance of all cold food for proper color combination and overall presentation.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory levels of all sandwich varieties.

Requirements:

  • Large-scale cooking experience in camp settings, banquet halls, and/or hotels is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a sandwich-maker role at a mass-production level is preferred.
  • Current Food Safe certification is preferred.
  • Ability to commit to a 2 week on/2 week off rotation.
  • A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills for the completion of online learning modules for training.
  • Capacity to successfully perform drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Must have valid government-issued photo ID for travel to site.
  • Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders or stairs, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, or sitting for extended periods.
