About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, External Communications to join our Global Wealth Management (GWM) Communications team at Scotiabank. Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement External Communications Strategies: Conceptualize, develop, and implement external communications plans that align with business strategies and objectives.

  9. Foster a High-Performance Environment: Support a high-performance environment by fostering an inclusive work environment and communicating vision/values/business strategy.
Requirements
  1. Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree: Post-secondary diploma or degree in communications, journalism, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of Eight Years Experience: Minimum of eight years working experience in a corporate communications or related industry communications experience in a complex, dynamic, knowledge-based environment.
  3. Understanding of the Financial Industry: Understanding of the financial industry is an asset.
  4. Fluency in French and/or Spanish: Fluency in French and/or Spanish is an asset.
  5. Exceptional Written Communication Skills: Exceptional written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to create and deliver strategic communications plans that drive engagement across a large employee base and amongst a range of stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated Media Relations and Issues Management Experience: Demonstrated media relations and issues management experience, with a knowledge of the Canadian media landscape.
  7. Excellent Oral and Written English Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  8. Excellent Project Management Skills: Excellent project management skills with a high-level of accountability for the quality and timely completion of projects.
