Senior Medical Director for Operational Excellence

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Medical Director to lead our operational excellence initiatives within the Nova Scotia Health Authority. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of $180,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
About the Role
- Provide strategic business advice and medical guidance to our Executive Team, VP Medicine, and Senior Leadership Team to drive operational improvements across the organization.
- Lead the development and implementation of clinical strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with our provincial health objectives.
- Promote collaboration and cooperation among zones to deliver high-quality patient-centered care and identify opportunities for shared resources.
- Oversee the effective operation of the zone, driving improvement and innovation in service delivery models and achieving agreed-upon outcomes and performance goals.
- Direct the implementation of service strategies congruent with our quality and sustainability plan, ensuring alignment with assigned zone objectives.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including financial services, quality and system performance teams, and external partners.
- Develop and maintain a patient-centric culture, representing the zone to the external market and promoting community relations and marketing initiatives.
This role requires a Medical Doctorate (with or without specialty) and evidence of past and ongoing leadership training. A CCPE/MBA/CHE is preferred. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years' experience at a senior leadership level, with a track record of achievement in improving and innovating service delivery in large, diverse healthcare settings.
The successful candidate will be able to exercise initiative and vision, work independently and cooperatively, adapt easily to changes in direction, and provide effective leadership. They will also possess strong human resource and financial planning skills, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.
