Job Opportunity

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team.

About the Role

The Financial Manager will be responsible for driving the execution of the hospital's financial strategy and related initiatives, assessing financial performance and health, and identifying risks and mitigation strategies.

The successful candidate will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of all hospital finance and procurement activities, including accounting, cash management, audit functions, purchasing, logistics, supply chain, and contract management.

They will also provide strategic advice to the hospital's CFO and Strategic Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to achieve hospital goals
  • Assess and analyze financial performance and health, identifying areas for improvement
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial systems and processes
  • Provide financial expertise and analysis to support innovative approaches to health system funding reform, models of care, and analytics
  • Oversee and manage financial processes, policies, and internal controls
  • Prepare and present financial reports and recommendations to senior leadership
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or actively working towards
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Previous experience leading in a unionized environment is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced knowledge of financial and procurement software
  • Experience with Meditech EXPANSE is an asset
