Job Summary:

The Child Care Worker Assistant will provide support to early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This role involves assisting with daily tasks, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, and engaging children in activities that foster creativity and learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Basic security clearance
  • Criminal record check
  • Child Abuse Registry check
Work Environment:

The Child Care Worker Assistant will work in a child care centre with a team of early childhood educators and support staff. The work environment is physically demanding and requires attention to detail.
