Responsibilities

As a Technical Artist – Tools, you will be responsible for supporting outsource teams in the deployment of tools, asset creation, performance budgets, and guidelines in Frostbite and DCC workflows. You will work closely with outsourcing vendors, technical artists, tools engineers, and rendering engineers to improve workflows and tools to scale asset management and production capability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting outsource teams in the deployment of tools and asset creation
  • Working with outsourcing vendors to improve workflows and tools
  • Collaborating with technical artists, tools engineers, and rendering engineers to improve pipeline efficiency
  • Evaluating performance and budgets of content created in partnership with outsourcing vendors
  • Exhibiting a high degree of technical knowledge about current state-of-the-industry content workflows, tools, and pipelines
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Artist working on tools and pipelines
  • Experience developing tools and pipelines on at least one shipped console/PC title
  • Understanding of architecture for complex tools and pipelines with a focus on content creator-friendly workflows and scalability
  • Experience collaborating with different audiences to partner in technology and tool development
  • Experience with at least one of the following pipelines: Environments, Character, Rigging, Animation, or Asset Management
  • Understanding of real-time game content and requirements for efficiency and high quality
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, C#, C++
  • Expert knowledge in a few 2D and 3D Art packages and workflows
