GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Water Treatment Operator to join our team. As a Water Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all water treatment activities at our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Water Treatment Equipment: Ensure the proper functioning of all water treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, and treatment chemicals.
- Monitor Water Quality: Regularly check water quality parameters and make adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal treatment levels.
- Interact with Clients: Receive clients and gather necessary information for compliance and billing purposes.
- Conduct Water Sampling and Testing: Collect and analyze water samples to ensure treatment effectiveness and inform the Supervisor of Operations of any deviations from normal parameters.
- Direct Water Discharge: Based on treatment results, direct the discharge of incoming water onto the site.
- Perform Minor Repairs: Conduct minor repairs on treatment equipment as needed.
- Maintain Facility and Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on the facility and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Support Health and Safety: Support the Supervisor of Operations in maintaining health and safety protocols.
- Other Duties: Perform other related tasks as required by the activities of the branch.
- Experience: Relevant experience in water treatment.
- Certifications: Certification in water treatment.
- Skills: Basic mechanical and plumbing skills.
- Work Environment: Ability to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision.
- Availability: Availability for emergency interventions.
- Physical Demands: Good physical condition.
