Orthotic Technician

As a Registered Orthotic Technician with the Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will play a vital role in the evaluation, treatment planning, and custom fabrication of assistive devices to enhance patient mobility and physical function. Working collaboratively with the inter-professional healthcare team, you will contribute to the provision of optimal care and assist patients in achieving their orthotic goals.
The successful candidate will work closely with certified clinicians to ensure the quality and integrity of orthoses provided to patients meet their physical and functional needs. You will incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication to deliver high-quality care to patients.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Orthotic Technician who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate well with patients, families, and the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements, as well as infection control procedures.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in the field and be registered in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Hours and CompensationThe successful candidate will work 75 hours bi-weekly and be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
