We are on the lookout for a passionate and driven individual to take on a pivotal role within our Software Engineering team as a Lead Software Architect.
We seek seasoned Engineers to contribute to the development of our next-generation WineDirect platform. You will collaborate with a team focused on creating innovative omni-channel sales, marketing, loyalty, analytics, and subscription automation services.
As a Lead Software Architect, you will serve as a thought leader and technical authority for our software solutions. Your extensive background in software design, architecture, and development will be instrumental in ensuring our solutions are technically robust, secure, scalable, and high-performing. You will engage with the engineering team to tackle complex software development challenges and work collaboratively across functions to align our solutions with the technical requirements of our clients.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience in architecting and designing scalable cloud-native services and infrastructure deployed in AWS, with expertise in technology stacks such as Aurora, PostgreSQL, and SQS.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing event-driven architectures utilizing technologies like SideKiq, Kafka, and/or RabbitMQ.
- Proficient in architecting headless shopping experiences with platforms such as Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, or similar solutions.
- Experience in integrating payment APIs and platforms, including Stripe.
- Strong background in Ruby on Rails and comprehensive full-stack architecture.
- Expertise in architecting API-driven orchestration microservices to support mobile, POS, and eCommerce platforms.
- Prior experience in modernizing legacy platforms into contemporary architectures.
- Proficiency in Open Telemetry and performance monitoring techniques.
- Ability to oversee the entire software application development lifecycle—design, build, deploy, test, and release.
- Experience with OWASP-compliant design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Ability to produce clean, well-structured, unit-tested, and efficient code.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conducting meetings with vendors and effectively coordinating priorities.
- Ability to seamlessly map vendor documentation to internal documentation.
- Experience in cross-mobile development and architecture.
- Capability to design OLTP to OLAP data models for efficient multi-tenant reporting.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Who You Are:
Candidates should possess a well-developed sense of empathy, prioritizing the best experience for our partners, clients, and end consumers.
- 8+ years of experience as a software developer in distributed systems or cloud-based solutions.
- Proficient in Ruby on Rails, Go, Java, C++, React JS, or NodeJS.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Expert in microservices architecture, domain modeling, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, event streaming, and Data Warehousing/Data Lakes.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
