Job Title: Apiary Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Apiary Technician to join our team at Meadow Ridge Enterprises Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the bee yard and beekeeping equipment, working with honey bees, and assisting in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the bee yard and beekeeping equipment
  • Work with honey bees
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Detect bee diseases
  • Extract honey manually
  • Harvest, extract and package honey and beeswax
  • Manage bee colonies for the production of honey and pollination purposes
  • Treat bees with antibiotics

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fast-paced environment
  • Physically demanding
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Hand-eye co-ordination
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
