About This Role

This casual position is located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Under the supervision of a Food Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for preparing, handling, portioning, and packaging food and beverages. You will also assemble trays in the kitchen and/or serve meals in a dining room setting.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing food according to set guidelines and menus;
  • Serving meals to patients and customers;
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, dishes, tables, and serving areas;

You will work independently in a fast-paced environment with speed and accuracy. You must be able to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and other hospital departments. The successful candidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills, initiative, and a patient-first approach.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent;
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications;
  • Customer service experience;
  • Familiarity with a hospital or long-term care environment;

Please note that all new employees must be able to attend 1-2 days of Patient Food Services new employee orientation.
