Job Summary

Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services is responsible for the day-to-day operation of facilities and service delivery for recreation venues and programs, parks & recreation policies, and programs for cultural services. Ensures the operations, processes and services are customer-centric and efficient.

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing a therapeutic recreation day program for adults with disabilities, including all functions relating to the delivery of the program offered through support of a community partner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Post-secondary education in Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, Recreation or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with adults with physical, development, sensory and other types of disabilities in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
Requirements
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates.
  • Crisis Prevention/Intervention training certificate.
  • Behaviour Management training certificate.
  • Alternative Communication Systems (ASL- American Sign Language) training.
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training.
  • Ergonomic Lifts and Transfers training.
