We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Unity Child Care Centres. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 0-12 years old.


About the Job:


The successful candidate will have a strong passion for early childhood education and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality care and education to children.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Create and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children;
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers;
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful relationship with children, parents, and colleagues;
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers in their daily activities;
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest;
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity;
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts;
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits;
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods;
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or supervisors;
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors;
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings;
  • Establish guidelines for behavior;
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children;
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with children;
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children;
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in childcare programs before and after regular school hours;

Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field;
  • A valid certification from the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE);
  • First Aid and CPR certification;
  • Experience working with children aged 0-12 years old;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends;

What We Offer:


We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
