Job Title: System Administrator

Medavie Blue Cross is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our Infrastructure Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of our server and storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain server and storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Administer and support core Microsoft, Cisco, and VMware technologies.
  • Respond to service requests within the required service levels and provide technical support as needed.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and be available within the required service level.
  • Support new solution deployments, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply firmware and patches to servers and maintain supportability.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, usage, health, and security.
  • Act as security administrator for systems and follow established procedures.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of server support experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows Servers, Azure, Exchange Online, and VMWare.
  • Knowledge of protocols and concepts such as IPv4, DHCP, DNS, FTP, Active Directory, Azure AD, File Systems permissions, virtualization, and Storage Area Networks (SAN).
