Job Title: Senior Project Manager, IT

The Taggart Group of Companies, a leading full-service construction organization, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager, IT to lead the strategic planning, execution, and management of IT projects across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies for IT initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior executives and departmental leaders to identify project requirements, set priorities, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Engage and manage third-party vendors for software, hardware, and services; negotiate contracts and monitor performance.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget; monitor project expenditures and manage resources efficiently.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to project timelines, quality, and costs.
  • Provide input on technology selection system architecture, and ensure that solutions meet the company's technical and business needs.
  • Lead and implement change management processes to ensure smooth transitions during system or process upgrades and modifications.
  • Generate regular progress reports, project status updates, and post-project evaluations to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all IT projects adhere to relevant security, compliance, and regulatory standards, particularly in the construction industry.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
  • PMP or other relevant project management certification is an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing IT projects, preferably within a construction or similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), IT infrastructure, and digital transformation projects.
  • Proven experience managing mid-scale IT projects, including software implementations and infrastructure upgrades, and experience leading IT process improvement and digital transformation.
  • Exposure to ITIL frameworks and IT support processes is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of IT strategy, system architecture, emerging technologies, and change management principles.
  • Experience in managing budgets, timelines, and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software solutions (e.g., ERP systems, construction management software) is an asset.
