Role Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative individual to join our team as a Collections Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for pursuing overdue taxes and levies, as well as returns required under the Alberta Corporate and Commodity Tax Acts and collection of orders under the Employment Standards Code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process outstanding taxes, levies, and Employment Standards orders
  • Educate taxpayers/debtors on their requirements to file and make arrangements for the filing of tax returns and payments
  • Assess the financial situations of corporations and individuals to identify sources of funds for the collection of accounts
  • Provide recommendations or suggestions to improve policy, procedures, process, and legislation to streamline the collection and enforcement process
Requirements
  • Positive attitude and adaptability
  • Strong organization, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards Code and Regulation, Federal and Provincial Corporate and Commodity Tax legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
