At Ontario Transit Group, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee the electrical systems of our tunnel construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and implement electrical distribution systems above and below ground.
  • Organize plans and schedules of work to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available for work completion.
  • Provide instruction and enforce safety regulations.
  • Inspect work to ensure it meets codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Comply with project environmental management plans.
  • Ensure electrical systems and installations adhere to Canadian safety regulations.
  • Select and train qualified personnel to work safely on electrical systems.
  • Implement safe work systems and issue permits to work.
  • Collaborate with the tunneling team to plan future work and develop Work Site Safety Plans.
  • Authorize personnel to work on electrical equipment.
  • Liaise with electrical personnel to ensure they understand upcoming work and adhere to procedures.
  • Oversee the preparation of daily shift reports.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections.
  • Manage and compile electrical documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrical supervisor, preferably in underground construction projects.
  • In-depth understanding of Canadian electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective maintenance programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
