Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join its Mental Health team at Bella Coola General Hospital in Bella Coola, BC.
Key Responsibilities- Provide holistic mental health care to clients and families through a harm reduction, culturally safe, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approach.
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate and support care transitions across multiple sites and services.
- Conduct psycho-social assessments, develop and implement client-centered care plans, and provide direct care activities such as group and program delivery, evaluation, and documentation.
- Use health management and self-care management principles to identify problems and address issues in collaboration with the care team.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships based on respect and empathy.
Bella Coola is a picturesque mountain valley community with a population of approximately 1800 people. The community offers a unique blend of natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities.
Qualifications- Master's Degree in Social Work.
- Two years' recent experience providing mental health care through a holistic lens or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
