School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) is seeking a skilled Heating/Refrigeration Technician to join our facilities maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair heating and cooling equipment and associated controls in accordance with local codes and regulations.
- Overhaul, repair, and modify existing equipment and associated controls to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Travel to various school district work sites as needed to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot and maintain heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems to ensure they are functioning properly and safely.
- Perform other duties related to the heating/refrigeration trade as directed by management.
- Order necessary supplies and equipment and make recommendations on purchases.
- Grade 12 supplemented by full qualifications at the Journeyman level and appropriate restricted Electrical Worker's certificate and Gas certificate.
- Valid Interprovincial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic TQ certificate and five years of proven work experience in the heating/refrigeration field after designation.
- Valid B.C. Driver's License.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools/equipment.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and physical demands. The ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights is required.
