About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Team Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing direct, hands-on care to patients and supporting their activities of daily living.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of regulated health professionals and will be responsible for:

  • Providing patient care and support based on individual needs and program/unit requirements
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living
  • Reinforcing patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and is committed to working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Continuing Care Assistant Program certification with the Department of Health and Wellness
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time, long-assignment position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

The hourly rate for this position is $25.70.
