Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Outreach Nurse to join our team. As a Harm Reduction and Substance Use Outreach Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering nursing support and educational activities to communities. Your expertise will help us address the complex issues surrounding harm reduction and substance use.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional nursing support and educational activities to communities
- Provide nursing programs in relation to mental health and substance use
- Support the development of nursing practice standards in communities
- Collaborate with community partners to address harm reduction and substance use concerns
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in registered nursing or psychiatric nursing
- Additional training and education related to substance use, harm reduction, mental health, and trauma-informed practice
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
- Knowledge of health status of populations, inequities in health, and determinants of health and illness
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse in primary care, community, and/or public health nursing or acute care, ambulatory care, and/or outpatient centers
- Two years of experience caring for clients with harm reduction and substance use concerns
