**Job Overview**

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist to support the delivery of Elections Alberta's internal and external communication activities.

The successful candidate will manage social media platforms, create engaging content, and collaborate with vendors for advertising campaigns. They will also develop informative website content and produce Elections Alberta publications such as annual reports and event materials in both print and digital formats.

This role requires strong strategic communication skills to ensure key messages are consistent, clear, and easily understood by the general public. The ideal candidate will apply their creativity and attention to detail to deliver high-quality graphic, digital, and print design services that support brand and communication strategies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage social media platforms to engage with stakeholders and promote Elections Alberta's initiatives
  • Create compelling content for website, social media, and publications
  • Collaborate with vendors for advertising campaigns and promotional materials
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote Elections Alberta's programs and services

**Requirements:**

  • Degree or diploma in visual communication design, graphic design, media, marketing, communications, or a related field required
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in managing social media, designing visual assets, and writing and editing professional communications
  • Training and experience in graphic design is required; experience in video development and editing is considered an asset
  • Excellent working knowledge of social media management software, strategies, analytics, and platforms
  • Strong working knowledge and application of communications planning and web communications
