Maintenance Planning Opportunity

Resolute Forest Products Inc., a leading company in the wood products industry, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Planner to join their team at the Ignace Sawmill location in Ontario, Canada. This permanent, full-time role offers a unique blend of technical support and coordination of daily maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for planning, installation, maintenance, and optimization of equipment
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities, schedule manpower, and organize shutdowns
  • Maintain communication between operations and maintenance departments
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders, purchase requisitions, backlog review, weekly schedules, PMs, and equipment database updates
  • Analyze jobs in the field and physically verify parts/store inventory
  • Facilitate weekly and daily planning meetings and provide on-call coverage as necessary

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Technologist, Trades certification, or equivalent
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a related industrial environment
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and CMMS
  • Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of sawmill and planer mill equipment and issues within the wood products industry

About the Role:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering technology and experience working in a similar industrial environment
  • Additionally, proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and CMMS, as well as good understanding of sawmill and planer mill equipment and issues within the wood products industry are essential requirements
