Job Title: Production Worker - Powder Coating

At Powell Canada Inc., we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Worker - Powder Coating to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our Electrical Division, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing process, working closely with our Fabrication department to produce high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily and weekly preventative maintenance of metal working machinery.
  • Mask and tape parts in the Powder Coating and Copper Dip department.
  • Move parts between manufacturing operations, following part routing.
  • Load and unload steel or other products from trucks.
  • Assist with shop and yard organization.
  • Support machine operators with various tasks as needed.
  • Remove finished parts from sheet metal skeletons.
  • De-burr, grind, or finish metal parts using air or electric grinders or sanders.
  • Sort and stack parts by part number and job number combination.
  • Assemble kits of parts for welding.
  • Operate pallet jack, forklift, and cranes.
  • Use general hand tools, such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and vise grips.
  • Perform labor tasks, such as painting, grinding, sanding, or general cleaning, as directed.
  • Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
  • Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying potential risks to product quality.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 1-2 years of metal fabrication shop experience is an asset.
  • Safety certifications are an asset for this position.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment with occasional outside activities.
  • Wear personal protective equipment at all times, including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and respirators when required.
  • Work at heights up to 30 feet using proper lift equipment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling.
  • Bend, stretch, and move around the work area.
  • Stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
  • Use upper extremities to apply or exert force up to 50lbs.
  • Use hand tools, such as tin snips, hammer, and power tools, for long periods.
