Job Summary:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Interior Health Authority, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. This is a casual opportunity, with hours not guaranteed and shifts scheduled days and nights, rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.
About the Role:
Key responsibilities include performing assessments and planning, implementing, and providing personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. You will administer oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures. Additionally, you will operate in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and unit-specific protocols.
About the Location:
The Pavilion at The Slocan Community Health Centre, located in New Denver, is a residential facility attached to the 24/7 Emergency Unit and physicians' offices. Our resident-centred philosophy is designed to support residents' choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. The facility is one storey with six private rooms and 10 semi-private (double occupancy) rooms with stunning views of the mountains and lake. Our Recreational Program Coordinator is on site 5 days/week, as well as a Rehabilitation Assistant on site for walking, balance, and strength classes. The Physiotherapist and occupational therapist see residents regularly as needed, and we have a van on site for outings with the residents.
