Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT

Location: Lake Country, BC

VCA Canada's Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our team of skilled veterinary professionals. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and exceptional client service in a fast-paced environment.

As a Registered Veterinary Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of cases, including companion animals and exotic species. You will participate in providing wellness and preventative care, assist in the management of urgent care, and oversee anesthesia for both elective and emergency surgery. Our hospital is committed to expanding our ER department to 24/7 services, and shifts will range from daytime to evening and overnight, as well as shared weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:
  • Must have completed or be in the process of completing a Veterinary Technologist or Animal Health Technologist program
  • Technical skills or knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy
  • Surgical preparation, assisting, and patient recovery
  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records
  • Compassionate care for hospitalized patients and their pet parents
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to problem-solve and ask clarifying questions to find solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with colleagues and clients
  • Passion to learn and continually develop as a Veterinary Professional
