We operate a world-class network of production, distribution, and ag retail facilities, and we're seeking a Cloud Architect to help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the creation of a technology framework and provide technical leadership in support of Nutrien's initiatives in cloud computing with a focus on the design of services that run on both on-premises as well as cloud platforms.
  2. Work closely with software developers and system/database engineers to understand requirements and participate in design discussions.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes.
  5. Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public, and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
  6. Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks.
  7. Define optimal database design (Structured and unstructured) patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
  8. Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability tests of business tools, and third-party and cloud applications.
  9. Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
  10. Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations.
  11. Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how cloud technology can support these efforts.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or other closely related subject
  2. 8-10+ years of experience with a background in technical architecture, application development, middleware, database management, or operations
  3. Required 3+ years of software/application development experience OR Solution Architecture and Operations
  4. Experience with AWS, Azure, and other Cloud Platforms.
  5. Experience with the monitoring and analytics of CloudHealth, Azure Monitor, Service NOW
  6. Security – Azure AD, MS MFA, Prisma, Splunk
  7. Scripting & Languages – Python, Bash, Java
  8. Extensive hands-on experience and thorough understanding of AWS & Azure architecture, development, deployment, and test automation consuming cloud native services
  9. Experience and thorough understanding of Agile/Scrum development, DevSecOps, CI/CD process and tools
  10. Dedication to continuous improvement and optimization of Cloud offerings
  11. Innovative and ability to think outside the box for creative problem-solving
  12. AWS-Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Preferred
  13. AWS-Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Preferred

What We Offer:

Annual salary of $117,920 - $162,140. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance as well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. Paid vacation, sick days, holidays, paid personal and maternity/parental leaves, and an Employee and Family Assistance Program.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
