Responsibilities

As a Warehouse/Yard Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:
  1. Supervising warehouse and yard staff to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  2. Managing the receipt and processing of incoming shipments, including inspecting and verifying product quality and quantity.
  3. Coordinating the unloading and loading of products, using specialized equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  4. Maintaining accurate records and reports related to inventory levels, shipping and receiving, and other operational metrics.
  5. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to optimize workflow and reduce costs.
  6. Developing and implementing training programs for warehouse and yard staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • At least three years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a warehouse or logistics setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
  • A strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
