Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Civil Construction Labourer to join our team at Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. As a Labourer, you will play a crucial role in the success of our open space site development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physical labor at construction sites, including carting and spreading topsoil and other materials.
  • Lay sod or seed, plant shrubs and trees, and clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including concrete mixers and small packers.
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications.
  • Load and unload construction materials from trucks and move them to the worksite.
  • Assist in the installation of drainage systems, retaining walls, and other features.
  • Clean up work areas and remove debris.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair work, such as filling holes and repairing fences.
Requirements
  • Previous construction experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Minimum Class 5 driver's license is mandatory, and a reliable vehicle is required for transportation to various sites.
  • Flagging certification or experience with traffic control is an asset.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor environments.
  • Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
  • Equipment and machinery experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to follow them at all times.
