We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Resident Assistant to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to residents living in a small home environment, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, and nutrition
- Provide stimulating activities and care for the residents' environment, including housekeeping and laundry
- Work collaboratively with the Nurse and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff in a friendly and professional manner
- Grade Xll education required
- Health Care Aide Certificate from recognized program
- Foundation to Therapeutic Recreation or willing to obtain
- Food Handler Training Certificate or willing to obtain
- Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills, including Outlook/Email, and ability to adapt easily to online training programs
- Minimum of one-year recent relevant experience preferred
- Experience working with an older adult population
- Demonstrated compassionate, empathetic, and nurturing personality
- Demonstrated ability and desire to care for the older adult population
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
- All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
