Baseline Payments is a Vancouver-based payments consultancy and fintech that has been serving clients across Canada and the U.S. since 2012. Our team is dedicated to improving accounts receivable and accounts payable processes for merchants, and we're committed to staying ahead of the rapidly changing payments landscape.

Our Platforms

We own two platforms: a marina management software and an established EFT payments solution. Our marina management software is in the early stages of development, and we're looking for a skilled developer to help automate daily marina tasks and empower boaters with self-service reservations and seamless communication.

The Job

We're seeking an enthusiastic coder with at least five to seven years' experience, deep expertise in React and JavaScript, and a passion for cloud solutions. As a member of our motivated team, you'll work closely with fellow software developers, salespeople, and customer support specialists to provide the best offerings for our client base and prospects.

Responsibilities
  1. Understand Baseline's business objectives and requirements and act upon them
  2. Assess existing systems, processes, and assets
  3. Help design an innovative and scalable cloud solution that aligns with business goals
  4. Support solution design and architecture, implementation, testing, and delivery
  5. Support the documentation of solution architecture, environments, engineering, and delivery processes, solution operations, and maintenance procedures
  6. Work with Baseline leadership, business teams, cross-functional teams, engineering teams, technology specialists, and external partners
Requirements
  1. Communication skills with the ability to summarize, elaborate, and present technical matters and concepts for various audiences
  2. Proficiency with Node and JavaScript, as well as essential networking concepts and protocols
  3. Advanced knowledge of various database models and structures, including their benefits and drawbacks
  4. Proficiency with GCP cloud platforms and understanding of typical cloud service and infrastructure scalability and high availability challenges
  5. Knowledge of CI/CD, automated infrastructure provisioning, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated solution delivery and deployment, build systems, and pipelines
  6. Some knowledge of basic cybersecurity concepts, including access management, encryption, trust establishment, and security by design principles
Compensation and Eligibility

The compensation for this position will be based on experience and will be in the range of $75,000 to $90,000. Applicants must be lawfully eligible to work in Canada.
