Anesthesia Assistants play a critical role in the operating room, working under the supervision of anesthesiologists to provide anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

\

Responsibilities include monitoring stable anesthetized patients, administering anesthesia agents as directed, and evaluating patients' cardiorespiratory conditions.

\

As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will work collaboratively with the nursing team to ensure patients receive high-quality care before, during, and after surgery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

\

To be successful in this role, you must have:

\
  • \
  • A registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario or the College of Nurses of Ontario\
  • A current certification as a Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant from a Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapy accredited school\
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Anesthesia Assistant role in an operating room\
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse in a Critical Care/Emergency department or Operating Room\
