About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker I to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the upkeep of our facilities, including general maintenance, moving infrastructure-related equipment, and providing assistance to specialized trades.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be required to perform building quality assurance rounds, as well as tasks in the areas of construction, installation, inspection of structure, and mechanical and equipment troubleshooting and repair.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $21.60 - $24.00 and a comprehensive benefits package. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, we encourage you to apply.

About You
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Certificate or training towards a licensed trade will be considered an asset
  • Experience on farm-type tractor or other grounds maintenance/snow removal equipment considered an asset
  • 3 months demonstrated hands-on related experience in a commercial or industrial setting
  • Travel to other sites may be required
  • Capable and willing to learn new skills and to participate in on-the-job training in order to work on specialized equipment
  • Knowledge of required tools, equipment, and materials, and ability to use them effectively
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
