Job Description

Critical Role Overview:

The Director of Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of the Morrin Centre, playing a critical role in human resources and community outreach. This includes assisting with financial management, participating in meetings with the LHSQ Council, and acting as an ambassador of the Morrin Centre within the larger Quebec City region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Human Resources Management:
  • Manage onsite operations of the LHSQ with direct supervision of the main activity sectors: Library, Rentals, Guided Tours, Collections, Events, Education, and Community Outreach.
  • Set and communicate clear goals and objectives for staff and monitor progress through regular individual meetings.
  • Conduct annual employee reviews and annual work plans, providing constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work culture, ensuring effective communication and teamwork across groups.
Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations at the Morrin Centre, focusing on rentals, tours, library services, membership programs, and building maintenance.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient functioning of all operational areas, maintaining a high level of service and engagement for visitors and members.
Public Representation:
  • Represent the Morrin Centre at public events and in the community, acting as an ambassador and promoting the Centre's mission, programs, and services.
Financial Management:
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to ensure financial goals are met and resources are used effectively.
  • Assist with financial reporting and budgeting processes, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources across operational areas.
Council Engagement:
  • Aid in the preparation of reports to Council.
  • Attend and contribute to Council and Executive Committee meetings, contributing to discussions on strategy, policy, and operational performance.
