The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Medical Examiner to join our team. As a Medical Examiner, you will be responsible for conducting thorough and impartial investigations into deaths, and providing expert opinions on the cause and manner of death.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct autopsies and examinations of deceased individuals to determine the cause and manner of death
  • Collect and analyze evidence to support investigations
  • Prepare detailed reports and provide expert testimony in court
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and other agencies to ensure thorough and effective investigations
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical and scientific developments in the field of forensic pathology
Requirements
  • MD or equivalent degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry
  • 5 years or more of experience in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license
