Job Title: Cross Border Tax Assistant Manager

Baker Tilly WM LLP is a leading midsize accounting and advisory firm based in Vancouver and Toronto. We provide value-added audit, tax and advisory solutions that support local businesses.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cross Border Tax Assistant Manager to join our tax practice in Toronto or Vancouver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing tax engagements, contributing to the growth of the firm, and providing exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Tax Partners and Senior staff on personal tax compliance and tax advisory engagements
  • Manage and coordinate tax planning and compliance services for individuals requiring US and Canadian income or estate tax filings
  • Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets
  • Review assessments and correspond with the IRS, state authorities, and CRA on various issues
  • Build and manage client relationships at a senior level; advise clients by delivering high-quality tax service and advice
  • Actively mentor and coach staff to their highest potential
  • Support and mentor firm staff in respect of tax matters
  • Identify client service opportunities
